Organization during the trip

Displacement during the trip
The usual thing is that the participants do it with their own motorcycles, sometimes they ask us to rent the motorcycle, for which we have a great variety of mounts.

The dynamics is: Before the start of the motorcycle route, there is a brief meeting, in which the details of the stage are detailed. The group is led by our guide, who maintains a constant pace adapted to the roads we are riding on. As a general rule, the guide will not be overtaken, in order to avoid mistakes at the crossroads.

The group will be followed by the support vehicle, which can be used by the participants if they consider it necessary. The motorcycle will be loaded on the support vehicle so the rest of the group will be able to follow the route by motorcycle normally.

In case of doubt on the part of a participant, in a city, crossroads… he/she can wait for the support vehicle to indicate him/her. All participants will be provided with the phone numbers of the organization, which also allows you to contact us at any time during the trip.

Provisions
All breakfasts, lunches and dinners are included, except those indicated in the section “Dates & Prices”. In addition, the organization will provide water and soft drinks for the participants.

During the motorcycle stages, there will be different stops at strategic locations, gas stations (obvious), street markets…

Equipment
Luggage:
During this motorcycle trip, participants must carry their own luggage and suitcases. The organization is not responsible for possible incidents. Only in exceptional cases it will be possible to transport private belongings in vehicles of the organization.

Staff
During the motorcycle trip to Morocco, in addition to a guide on a motorcycle, there will be a guide in an assistance vehicle.

Logistics
During our trips in Morocco, clients will transport their own luggage. Only in exceptional cases it will be possible to transport luggage in the organization’s vehicles.

Clothing:
We advise you to adapt the list of clothing to the season in which the trip will take place, however below is a list:
– quick drying clothes
– fleece
– cap to protect from the sun
– scarf to protect from the wind
– rain gear
– swimsuit
– sports shoes
– sunglasses
– toiletry bag
– sunscreen
– first aid bag

In addition, we recommend carrying the spare key of the motorcycle.

Formalities and Health
Physical fitness:
Travelers should be in good physical shape, and be used to traveling by motorcycle for several days. This trip is a motorcycle adventure to Morocco, so the pace and stages are dynamic and require some physical endurance.

Passport, Visa, Green Card and Mandatory Documentation:
Passport is mandatory to travel to Morocco, and may not expire within 6 months prior to the expected date of return, in which case it must be renewed before the trip. Europeans do not need a visa. If it is the first time in Morocco, it is necessary at least 4 blank pages in the passport…

The Green Card is essential to enter Morocco, in case of not having it or if it is expired, the customs service will not allow the motorcycle to enter Morocco. The Green Card is the international policy, normally provided with the ordinary policy.
Vehicles must have the ITV in force.

The vehicle documentation must be in the name of the person traveling with the vehicle. Sometimes there is usually a problem if it is not the same, but the Moroccan authorities are sometimes suspicious and avoid the entry of vehicles that can be susceptible to be sold illegally in the country. In the case that the vehicle is in the name of another owner, it will be necessary an authorization of this one and the photocopy of the DNI that legitimizes the authorization.

Security:
One of the most important sources of income of the Alawite country is tourism, currently one of the government’s objectives is to become a major tourist power, especially oriented to Europeans, which is why the tourist is usually quite pampered by the authorities, which ensure their welfare, the same goes for trade and people in general.
Nevertheless, it is not advisable to relax with the security measures that we usually take when we travel to any other country in the world.
The motorcycles will spend the night in closed enclosures, either from the hotel or under custody hired by the agency, this does not imply that Ruta Cero Tours assumes any responsibility in the event of any theft.

Timetable:
Please note that Morocco has a time difference of – 1 or 2 hours compared to the mainland.

Money:
The official currency in Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham, whose exchange rate usually oscillates around 1€ = 11 Dirham approximately.
ATMs are quite common in the cities, but not in the rural areas.
We advise you to carry some Dirham before crossing the border in order not to lose too much time when you cross it.

Responsibility:
Under no circumstances will the organization be responsible for breakdowns or incidents during the trip. However, at all times, we will try to find solutions to solve any problem that may arise during the trip. The mechanic will do everything possible to solve incidents in the vehicles.

In case of not being able to solve the possible breakdowns, the motorcycle will be transported in vehicles of the organization, and the rider will be able to continue the rest of the trip in an assistance vehicle.
