Day: 1

Day 1: Start of the Motorbike Tour Atlantic Coast - Tarifa - Tangier

On Friday, from the port of Tarifa, we will start our motorbike trip to Morocco, with a quick 40-minute crossing. During the trip, we will resolve any doubts about the route. On arrival, we go through customs formalities and head to the hotel. Afterwards, we go for a walk and dinner.

Day: 2

Day 2: Dancer - El Jadida

After breakfast, we begin our tour of Morocco, travelling by motorway to El Jadida, where we spend the second night. In the afternoon, we will explore the city, highlighting its colonial architecture, the walled city, the cistern and the Church of the Assumption, an example of Portuguese Manueline art.

Day: 3

Day 3: El Yadida-Safi-Essauira

Today we leave El Jadida, a Portuguese colonial town, to visit another coastal town with a similar past, which also has a walled medina and harbour. Along the way, we enjoy ocean views, fine sandy beaches, cliffs and viewpoints.

Towns such as Oualidia and Safi retain traces of Portuguese colonisation.

Day: 4

Day 4: Essaouira-Agadir

After breakfast we will visit the city walls of Essaouira, the old medina and the famous fishermen’s port.  After lunch, we will depart on our motorbikes to Agadir, where we will spend the night by the sea.

Agadir is a modern city, as it was practically destroyed in 1960. Only some parts of the old city walls survived the terrible earthquake.

Day: 5

Day 5: Agadir-Foum Zguid

We say goodbye to the coast and head into the Anti-Atlas mountains, passing through Taznakht and arriving at the palm grove of Agdz. The landscape varies between mountains, desert plains and deep palm groves. A motorbike trip full of surprises.

Day: 6

Day 6: Foum Zguid - Zagora - Alnif-Merzouga

We leave for Zagora, crossing the largest palm grove in Morocco and the Draa Valley in the middle of the desert. We will drive on tarmac roads close to the old Dakar tracks, observing the changing landscape, from the rocky desert to the dunes of Merzouga. The night will be spent under the stars in a luxury bivouac in the dunes of Erg Chebbi, enjoying parties and drumming.

Day: 7

Day 7: Merzouga

Today is a day full of sensations, we will be picked up by 4*4 vehicles and taken to local markets to enjoy a good barbecue in the middle of nowhere, after lunch we will have the afternoon free to enjoy walking on the dunes and relax in the sand, the hotel pool, renting buggies or quads. And we still have to enjoy our last sunset sitting on the sand of the dunes!

Day: 8

Day 8: Merzouga-Midelt-Azrou-Meknes

All good things come to an end… and today we start to return home. All the way north, a long day on the road until we reach Meknes and rest in a luxurious Riad in the historic centre of Meknes. We will leave behind the desert of sand and rocks, cross the Atlas by one of its most beautiful passes, visit the monkeys of the Cedar Forest of Azrou, see the “Swiss” landscape of Ifran… it won’t be a boring day, really.

Day: 9

Day 9: Meknes-Tangier-Tarifa

Our motorbike trip is coming to an end. A simple day awaits us to say goodbye to Morocco. Today we can enjoy the changing landscape, where the greens appear again and at the end of the day, the sea. We board the ferry and say goodbye to the new friends we have made during the trip. At the departure, each of us will start our journey back home.

Discover a different Morocco on our Atlantic Coast motorcycle trip, while visiting its most emblematic jewels.

Kilometers of beach, dotted with small fishing villages, historic ports and fortified towns, is the Atlantic Coast of Morocco. Changing landscapes, desert, unforgettable roads and an enchanting atmosphere, is what you will experience on this motorcycle trip to Morocco.

The trip on the Atlantic Coast motorcycle will take us from Tangier to Agadir, a changing coastal landscape, much more unique in the South. In between, visits to emblematic localities for their history, their physiognomy or their architecture as Essaouira, where we will taste the local gastronomy.

In Agadir our motorcycle trip takes a 90º turn to head inland, passing through deserts, palm groves to reach Merzouga, where we will enjoy the dunes and its unique environment.

The last part of the trip, returns us to Tangier, passing and knowing the Imperial City of Meknes. A motorcycle trip, very varied that allows us to know many of the most unique aspects Alaouites.

Organization during the trip

Travel during the trip
On this occasion, travel will be by motorcycle, 100% on paved roads.

Provisions
All breakfasts, lunches and dinners are included, except those indicated in the “Dates & Prices” section. In addition, the organization will provide cold drinks for the longer stages.

Equipment
Luggage:
During this trip, participants must carry their own luggage and suitcases. The organization is not responsible for possible incidents. Only in exceptional cases it will be possible to transport private belongings in vehicles of the organization.

Staff
During the motorcycle trip to Morocco, in addition to a guide on a motorcycle, there will be a guide in an assistance vehicle.

Logistics
During our trips in Morocco, clients will transport their own luggage. Only in exceptional cases it will be possible to transport luggage in the organization’s vehicles.

Clothing:
We advise you to adapt the list of clothing to the season in which the trip will take place, however below is a list:

Formalities and Health
Physical fitness:
Travelers should be in good physical shape, and be used to traveling by motorcycle for several days. This trip is a motorcycle adventure to Morocco, so the pace and stages are dynamic and require some physical endurance.

Passport, Visa, Green Card and Mandatory Documentation:
Passport is mandatory to travel to Morocco, and may not expire within 6 months prior to the expected date of return, in which case it must be renewed before the trip. Europeans do not need a visa. If it is the first time in Morocco, it is necessary at least 4 blank pages in the passport…

The Green Card is essential to enter Morocco, in case of not having it or if it is expired, the customs service will not allow the motorcycle to enter Morocco. The Green Card is the international policy, normally provided with the ordinary policy.
Vehicles must have the ITV in force.

The vehicle documentation must be in the name of the person traveling with the vehicle. Sometimes there is usually a problem if it is not the same, but the Moroccan authorities are sometimes suspicious and avoid the entry of vehicles that can be susceptible to be sold illegally in the country. In the case that the vehicle is in the name of another owner, it will be necessary an authorization of this one and the photocopy of the DNI that legitimizes the authorization.

Security:
One of the most important sources of income of the Alawite country is tourism, currently one of the government’s objectives is to become a major tourist power, especially oriented to Europeans, which is why the tourist is usually quite pampered by the authorities, which ensure their welfare, the same goes for trade and people in general.
Nevertheless, it is not advisable to relax with the security measures that we usually take when we travel to any other country in the world.
The motorcycles will spend the night in closed enclosures, either from the hotel or under custody hired by the agency, this does not imply that Ruta Cero Tours assumes any responsibility in the event of any theft.

Timetable:
Please note that Morocco has a time difference of – 1 or 2 hours compared to the mainland.

Money:
The official currency in Morocco is the Moroccan Dirham, whose exchange rate usually oscillates around 1€ = 11 Dirham approximately.
ATMs are quite common in the cities, but not in the rural areas.
We advise you to carry some Dirham before crossing the border in order not to lose too much time when you cross it.

Responsibility:
Under no circumstances will the organization be responsible for breakdowns or incidents during the trip. However, at all times, we will try to find solutions to solve any problem that may arise during the trip. The mechanic will do everything possible to solve incidents in the vehicles.

In case of not being able to solve the possible breakdowns, the motorcycle will be transported in vehicles of the organization, and the rider will be able to continue the rest of the trip in an assistance vehicle.
